The garden was once pasture and when sailing ships were commonly seen, was used, to grow flax, for the production of ropes and the waterproofing of boats. Nowadays, the name of the lane reminds us of this earlier activity.
The garden is marked out by old zinc containers with plants and grasses in them. And old roses grow alongside established shrubs. The pebbles that run along Malik's guests' house, the house has a somewhat japanese look. They hem with simplicity the contour of the house, underlining its sobriety.
Here and there are small collections of quaint old roses, they grow alongside established shrubs. The perennial plants are also appreciated.
On the patio, surrounded by greenery, a big pergola is covered by velum during the summer. Water accompanies the rock spaces in the garden. Covered by small ferns, it brings coolness to the sweet summer days and conduces dreaming.
The guests’garden is partitioned by hornbeam hedges and bordered by a brook.Small bridges over the stream lead you to the guests' garden for you to commune with nature.
At the back of the garden, behind a woven willow fence overcome by angelica and grasses, can be found a vegetable garden. There is a medieval knot garden of herbs.
And not far from there can be seen the very stilt red oak grove adding a touch of magic to the scenery. In the Autumn, the leaves turn various shades of red.
